Prerequisite: None
Description. For puppies 9 weeks to 5 months of age. Includes beginner obedience: sit, place, down, come, name-recognition, crate training, leave-it, drop-it, and no mouthing or jumping. Also focuses on socialization and exposure to new things, such as new people, sounds and textures.
How to Enroll

- Submit vaccines (Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella and negative fecal). Note: Puppies only need to be up-to-date for their age.
- Complete online registration
Note: Bordetella can be waived for classes
Required for First Class
- Dog on a short leash (4-6') - no flexi leashes
- Bag of high value, tiny treats
Basic Obedience

Please note: Un-fixed male and female dogs will only be allowed on a case by case basis. Contact training@dogwoodslodge.com for pre-approval.
Description. Start the basics with Sit, Down, Leave it, Place, Look/Watch, Come, Heeling and Name Recognition. A great way to start establishing basic commands with your dog in a group setting. We will also have time for questions about any problem behaviors.

Intermediate Obedience & CGC/Therapy Dog Prep

Prerequisite: Basic Obedience

Description. We will work on tuning up all of your skills from basic and making them rock solid. This includes strengthening all basic obedience commands to the specifications of the CGC/TDI test. This includes things such as visiting with a patient, 20 ft recall, longer sit/stays with more distractions and reactions to strange and unfamiliar situations.

- Written proof of Rabies, Distemper (DHLPP), Bordetella and a negative fecal
- Bag of bite sized treats (and a hungry dog)
